Dr. LaShawn Hart
LaShawn Hart, DDS is from the small town of Reidsville, North Carolina, which sits just North of Greensboro. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill where she majored in Biology with a Chemistry minor. After graduating, Dr. Hart spent one year as an orthodontic dental assistant before returning to UNC Chapel Hill to obtain her doctorate degree in Dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Hart’s desire to provide an advanced level of patient-based care led her to complete a one year residency at the Fayetteville V.A. Medical Center. This dental residency provided hands-on clinical experiences that enhanced her skills in general dentistry and widened her capabilities to provide more complex dental procedures for her patients. Each year, Dr. Hart attends continuing education courses to expand her knowledge, focusing on those that align with the specific needs of her patients.With her training, Dr. Hart has become skilled in all aspects of general dentistry and is also able to provide exceptional care in implants, root canals, and tooth extractions.
Throughout her undergraduate and dental education, Dr. Hart was engaged in a variety of
extracurricular activities. In college she was a member of The Marching Tar Heels where she
played cymbals and drums at Carolina’s many sporting events. She often volunteered with
Habitat for Humanity and was even able to build a house in Honduras during a summer mission
trip. During dental school, she shifted her focus to being a leader within various student groups
and volunteered at non-profit dental clinics that provided free dental care to those who were in
need. As a dentist, Dr. Hart serves as a mentor to students who are seeking a career in dentistry
and provides her perspective and guidance on how they can achieve their personal goals on
their path in dentistry.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Hart enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, traveling, being
outdoors, and spending time with family and her Goldendoodle, Champ.
